Featuring Shane Macgowan and Natty (live)
Recognised as a bona fide NME Rock Hero, MacGowan will be bringing his own brand of hooligan anarchy to the welcoming surroundings of Brixton’s Jamm. Those Jamm boys love a wild party, and Stiff promises untamed antics in abundance with MacGowan on the decks and a great support line up of live music. Shane MacGowen’s connection with Stiff Records comes from his time with The Pogues when in the mid 80’s they were signed to the label after being seen as support on a tour with The Clash.
For the more cultured crew inside, (and who says the culture vultures don’t like a drink!) we’ve also added the fantastic Natty to the bill, performing live in Brixton. You can’t have failed to have missed the heat around Natty’s album launch this year, and we’re chuffed to have him in the venue for Stiff! This 24 year old from North London shot to success with his incredible debut album “Man Like I” and continues to create sounds from around the world as he sums up modern Britain with pinpoint accuracy.

Stiff Records
Stiff Records was created in London in 1976 by Dave Robinson and Jake Riviera with the latter departing in 1978.
Although being heavily associated with punk rock and new wave (and releasing what is generally excepted as the UK’s first punk single “New Rose” by The Damned, Nov 1976), Stiff had a wide variety of artists on their roster including Elvis Costello, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, The Enemy, Yello, Larry Wallis, Nick Lowe, The Pogues, Kirsty MacColl, Madness, Motorhead and many many more.
Also known for creative and provocative marketing, with slogans such as “If it ain’t Stiff, it ain’t worth a fuck”, the label would gain great publicity through inivative marketing and promotional campaigns created for their releases including Elvis Costello famously busking outside CBS Records and the Stiff tours which showcased their emerging and established talent.
During the second half of the 80’s the label was sold to ZTT who in 2007 reactivated the label once more.
