Although it may be difficult to accept we are currently in the peak of summer, don’t let a lack of sunshine get your spirits down, instead embrace the overcast, get your mates together and head off out to a festival! In recent years Brixton has become home to some incredible events and festivals which have brought thousands of people from all over London and further afield to one of South London’s most popular areas. Brockwell Park has been at the heart of many of these incredible events as it offers a leafy green haven away from the surrounding urban environment.

Here at Brixton Jamm we’ve decided to check out what events have been happening in and around Brixton so far this summer and what you can expect to look forwards to…

FOUND – 11th June 2016

Returning for its fourth year and biggest yet, it was again held at Brixton’s Brockwell Park. Curated by some of London’s most forward-thinking members of the electronic music community it strives to bring together those who shaped the scene, alongside today and tomorrow’s most exciting new artists. Headliners this year included heavyweights from right across the electronic music spectrum and afar including Kerri Chandler, Derrick May, Theo Parrish and many more!

Sunfall – 9th July 2016

This summer saw the introduction of a brand new music festival held at Brixton’s Brockwell Park. Celebrating underground music Sunfall was a fantastic one-day event and a welcome addition to Brixton’s ever-thriving scene. Brought to us by the teams behind Dimensions festival and Outlook festival Sunfall’s music policy reflected the many sounds of London and beyond such as jazz, electronica, house, hip hop, dubstep, techno, soul, drum & bass and disco. Performances from Jamie xx, Kamasi Washington, Ben Klock and Moodymann were amongst the highlights. We look forwards to Sunfall 2017 already!
